OUR STORY
PFG started on World Mental Health Day in 2021 with the hope to decrease disparities in mental health and provide solution-focused content to increase awareness on mental wellness. Our nonprofit is a life support and production organization. We help people recognize what they do have and see the powerful results of personal change. PFG recognizes that mental health is a critical aspect of human life, and mental health outcomes should be equitable across all communities. By increasing access to mental health services, promoting mental health education, and implementing evidence-based practices, we aim to facilitate positive mental health outcomes for individuals from diverse communities. PFG is committed to reducing mental health disparities in diverse communities through innovative and culturally responsive mental health services
We are bearing witness to the identity of hope in the life of people we serve.
It is our honor and privilege.
We believe people always have agency.
People always have a choice.
More About Us...
Dr. Debbie created the positive childhood experiences concept in 2022. Through a family therapy lens of honoring the strengths of each person, this understanding recognizes the integration of systemic thinking, sociocultural attunement, congruence, differentiation of self, and spiritual wellness. In her solution-focused practice, Dr. Debbie recognizes that trauma like adverse childhood experiences also comes with protective factors like positive childhood experiences.
Protective factors are attributes in communities that promote the health and well-being of children and families.
By using the protective factors approach in collaboration with community, we help our clients find resources and supports that emphasize their strengths while also identifying areas where they need assistance, thereby reducing stress, anxiety, and other mental health concerns.
Our Targets:
-
Provide family therapy for clients on concerns throughout the family life cycle.
-
Create multimedia productions focused on promoting positive mental health awareness and reducing negative stigma in society.
-
Focus on the training and professional development of therapists in a systemic, relational, and cultural humility lens for holistic therapeutic services.
-
Contribute to family therapy research grants and awards for contributing to improved mental health outcomes
