Dr. Debbie Manigat is a leader for family wholeness in unsettling intergenerational trauma. As a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, she uses systemic thinking and qualitative action frameworks to help:
* Couples families embrace therapeutic wellness and unearth their resiliency
* Executives find time for self-care and build mental wellbeing supports and social return on investment in workplace organizational culture
* Scaffold therapists in supervision and the parallel process to understand the sacred space of healing

She is a proud graduate of Howard University (Bachelor of Arts, Communications and African American Studies), Palm Beach Atlantic University (Master of Science, Mental Health and Marriage & Family Therapy), and at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine (Marriage & Family Therapy). Debbie’s clinical practice is focused on empowering women, holistic wellness, and soul care. To support her clinical work, she completed her certification in Spiritual Direction from the Peacock Soul Care Institute for Spiritual Formation & Direction. Her goal is to shine light on patterns of resiliency in families and intergenerational protective factors through her unique lens on heart work. Dr. Tiffany Mays
Tiffany Mays is a dedicated mental health counselor (registered intern), school counselor, minister, and passionate advocate for mental health services. She brings a unique combination of clinical expertise, educational experience, and spiritual guidance to her comprehensive approach to healing and wellness.
Tiffany earned her Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University and her Doctorate of Philosophy in Counseling and Psychological Services from Regent University. Her advanced education provides her with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic practices and research-informed interventions.
With extensive experience across both public and private school systems, Tiffany has demonstrated her versatility and commitment to serving diverse populations. Her work spans community-based counseling services, providing therapeutic support to adults, children, and families from various backgrounds and circumstances.
Tiffany specializes in treating individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and grief, recognizing these as some of the most prevalent mental health challenges facing our communities today. Her therapeutic approach focuses on helping clients process their pain while developing healthy coping strategies and resilience skills to achieve their fullest potential.
As an active member of prestigious professional organizations, including the American Counseling Association, the South Florida Association for Christian Counselors, the American School Counselor Association, and the National Alliance for Mental Illness, Tiffany maintains her commitment to professional excellence and advocacy.
Through her multifaceted roles as counselor, educator, and minister, Tiffany is determined to break down barriers to mental health care while empowering individuals to become the best versions of themselves through compassionate, holistic therapeutic support.

Gabriela Chan, Student Counselor
Gabriela is bilingual in English and Spanish and works with individuals, couples, and families.
Her clinical training emphasizes trauma-informed care, attachment-based interventions, holistic and systemic approaches that honor cultural sensitivity and the mind-body connection. Gabriela has provided services in both university and community settings, supporting clients through relational challenges, substance use recover, mental health concerns, and life transitions.
Gabriela is committed to creating a safe, collaborative environment where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered to work toward meaningful change. Gabriela is excited to be on the team at Protective Factors Group and a master’s candidate at Nova Southeastern University in Couple and Family Therapy.

Alexander Smith, Pastoral Counselor
Mr. Smith brings a unique and compassionate perspective to the field of counseling, shaped by his extensive experience in law enforcement and a deep, evolving commitment to spiritual direction. Nearly a decade ago, while pursuing advancement in his policing career, Mr. Smith felt a divine nudge that redirected his path toward ministry. Following prayerful discernment and trusted mentorship, he chose to pursue higher education in Pastoral Ministry, with a minor in Christian Counseling—anchoring his calling in faith, wisdom, and service.
As he continued his studies, Mr. Smith discovered a profound passion for counseling—particularly for walking alongside individuals experiencing broken relationships, emotional crises, and the disorienting effects of substance use, depression, or spiritual disconnection. He is currently pursuing additional academic preparation in Pastoral Counseling and views every encounter as an opportunity to reflect God’s love and restore wholeness.
Rooted in humility and driven by purpose, Mr. Smith remains committed to seeking God’s plan for his life and calling. As a counselor, he is faithfully exploring opportunities to provide soul care, crisis support, and spiritual encouragement to those in need of hope and healing.

Ryan Quintero, MS
Ryan brings over a decade of experience as a health and relationship coach, which laid the foundation for his pursuit of licensure in Marriage and Family Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. His professional background encompasses working with diverse populations and non-profits across South Florida, including the YMCA of South Florida, Care Resource Community Health Centers, Saint International Sports Ministry, and now, Protective Factors Group.
In addition to his clinical work, Ryan is an accomplished business professional, having facilitated marketing and lead generation efforts for hundreds of performance coaches and therapists across six continents.
He specializes in working with couples, children, individuals experiencing homelessness, and individuals facing challenges related to addiction. Ryan is deeply committed to serving the South Florida community, aspiring to glorify God by integrating physical health and mental health into a holistic approach to well-being. Ryan graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University for a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.

Sheree Bryce-Joseph, MSW
Sheree is a Master of Social Work from the University of South Florida and over seven years of experience supporting individuals and families across healthcare, behavioral health, education, and child welfare systems. Her multidisciplinary background includes case management, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and resource coordination, which collectively inform her commitment to direct clinical practice.
In her role as a therapist, Sheree creates a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered. She integrates empathy, cultural humility, and a collaborative approach into each session, utilizing evidence-based methods to help individuals navigate anxiety, trauma, family transitions, and everyday stressors. Her therapeutic style is both nurturing and goal-oriented, supporting clients in building resilience and discovering meaningful personal growth.
With experience spanning both clinical and systems-level roles, Sheree brings a comprehensive and advocacy-driven lens to her practice. She is dedicated to ensuring that each client not only receives compassionate therapeutic care but also gains access to the tools, resources, and support networks necessary for long-term wellness and self-efficacy.

Rosa Abreu, Student Counselor
Rosa has her foundational faith-based and clinical training from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She offers compassionate, person-centered care to individuals navigating emotional and psychological challenges. She gained clinical experience working with clients impacted by trauma, bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression, with a growing focus on infant mental health and postpartum support for mothers.
As a practicum counselor, she works under close clinical supervision to ensure ethical, high-quality care while continuing to develop my professional skills. Her therapeutic approach integrates person-centered therapy, existential frameworks, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), along with other evidence-based techniques as appropriate to each client’s needs.
Rosa is dedicated to helping clients deepen self-awareness, and develop practical tools to manage life’s challenges. Her goal is to support each individual in achieving greater stability, resilience, and personal growth within a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

Joaneil Shirley, Social Work Intern
With a strong foundation in child welfare, clinical support, and community-based services, this Joaneil brings extensive experience in assessing child safety, promoting family stability, and coordinating essential resources for vulnerable populations. Her work includes conducting comprehensive home visits with children, parents, and caregivers to evaluate well‑being, permanency, and risk factors, while ensuring that each child’s medical, dental, educational, and mental health needs are identified and addressed.
Joaneil served in impactful roles such as Social Work Intern at Jack and Jill Children’s Center, where she supported families through case management, resource coordination, and problem‑solving to promote long‑term success. Prior experience as a Clinical Support Coordinator at Holy Cross Hospital strengthened their ability to triage complex cases, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and navigate high‑risk situations with clarity and composure. With additional experience in customer service and a Bachelor of Social Work from Florida Atlantic University, she brings and teaches exceptional communication skills, empathy, and a client‑centered approach to every interaction.
